Update on Library Project(s)

Dear Bayport-Blue Point Library Residents

At the January 10 Board of Trustee’s meeting, BBS, the libraries’ architects, released their final report to the library board. As a reminder, BBS was charged with exploring and comparing our current library with the potential of the St. Ursula Center being made into a library.

This process included an evaluation of our current building and again the feasibility of transforming the convent into a library. A program plan was put together and used to try and compare fitting a 21st century library into both locations. As this report was handed over to the board to analyze and review, the St. Ursula’s property is currently in contract with another party. The board will continue to monitor the St. Ursula’s site while at the same time work on a plan to address the library’s needs.
We would also like to update you that our February 14 Board Meeting has been moved to February 8 at 7:00 p.m due to a conflict.
