BPBPL Library Sustainability
The Library has begun taking steps to become a Sustainable Library through the Sustainable Libraries Certification Program, which is a nationwide initiative that is for public, school and academic libraries. We have a Sustainability Committee and we are working to increase the library’s commitment to environmental stewardship, economic feasibility, and social equity.
Beginning in January 2023, the Library will have a Big Green Box in the Children’s Room vestibule to collect used household batteries, cellphones, small electronic devices and charging cords. When the box is filled, it is sent back to Big Green Box to be recycled.
