Dear Bayport-Blue Point Library Residents:

On February 11, 2019 the sale of St. Ursuline convent was completed and the library took ownership of the property at 186 Middle Road; the location of your new library. This is the first step of a multi-step process!

The Library Board will be having a public meeting on May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at which time BBS Architects will walk through the plans for the facility and enlist community feedback on the updated design.

The basic timeline moving forward is approximately 2 years; we anticipate sending the design plans to the NY State Education Department by early summer. Once they approve the plans, the bid process begins. The public bidding process will end with awards going to the lowest responsible bidders, hopefully, in early 2020. Actual construction process is estimated to take 13-15 months.

We wanted to get this timeline out to you since this is the #1 question we get. During this process we will have many updates for you.
