Lyricism Then And Now

Apr 02 2017

Sunday, April 23rd, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Lyricism Then and Now connects the musical and personal lives of composers across time. From grand sonatas written at the end of a composer's life to miniatures that tell short stories about moments and people, these pieces will carry listeners deep into the inner lives of the composers whose music they are hearing. Carolyn Enger performs works by Beethoven, Schubert, Copland, Bernstein, and Rorem, bridging the gap between the great Romantic composers and the great American composers of the mid-twentieth century.
